As a landscape professional, I know how residential landscapes affect the feel of a home, neighborhood, and the surrounding environment. Many people have yards, but are disconnected from them.
So, what do we do to our landscapes, and why and how can we do it better to serve us all? What if, instead of being an afterthought, we thought of our landscapes as an integrative part of our home? The fabric that weaves together our neighborhoods (creating a sense of place) and an influential part of our environment?
I gave this talk at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
